Successful stepfamilies don’t just happen. You need to work at it, and sometimes that can be hard to know just what to do. In order for you to create a strong and healthy stepfamily, you need to have a plan, a vision and some goals.
Here are the three steps to help you get there:
  1. Have a vision for what you want your stepfamily to look like. Once that vision is in place, make a plan & refer back to it often…especially when you get distracted.
  2. Create a support team of people who believe in you & your vision, whether it’s your spouse/partner, other stepmoms, a coach…and talk to them often.
  3. Celebrate your successes along the way. When you focus on the positive parts of your stepfamily, this creates positive energy. What you focus on, you create. The excitement will keep you going.
Remember that whatever you’re doing, you’re doing it because you WANT TO. So you might as well get positive results for your efforts.
